Zak Wagman has lived in Stanmore his whole life and in May 2022 was elected as one of the ward's local councillors. He serves alongside Cllr Marilyn Ashton and Cllr Philip Benjamin. Zak's focuses on the Council are particularly centred around local interest - he sits on both the Planning Committee and the Planning Policy Advisory Panel and chairs the Bentley Priory Nature Reserve's Management Committee.
Zak is active in engaging with local residents and businesses. He holds weekly street surgeries in the local area with councillor colleagues and Bob Blackman MP, and regularly meets with the Stanmore Chamber of Trade to discuss key issues affecting Stanmore Town Centre. He has frequently attended events in the area, hosted by the Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue, the Stanmore Society and more.
Zak grew up with his family in Stanmore and has been very involved in many local activities all of his life. After a period studying in the West Midlands, he held a senior role in supply chain management at one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, and now runs a start-up business.
Outside of politics, Zak is active in a number of areas. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Arsenal FC and is a board member of both the Arsenal Supporters' Trust (AST) and StandWithUs UK.
