On Thursday 4th July 2024, the UK held a general election. After many weeks of campaigning, Zak was delighted to see Bob Blackman returned as Member of Parliament for Harrow East for a fifth term.
The Harrow East constituency comprises the Harrow wards of Belmont, Canons, Centenary, Edgware, Harrow Weald, Kenton East, Kenton West and Stanmore, as well as the ward of Queensbury in Brent.
Having played a significant role in his election campaign, Zak was very pleased that the voters of Harrow East saw fit to return Bob Blackman, with an increased majority.
Bob received 25,466 votes. This was 11,680 more than the Labour Party candidate, Primesh Patel, who came in second place. The vote came on a turnout of 62.5% (47,777 votes).
This is very good news for the people of Stanmore and Harrow East as Bob will continue on his track record of delivering for our area. Locally, so far, this has included more money for Stanmore College, Bentley Wood High School, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and our high streets and town centres.
Thank you to all of the council staff who made the election process possible, transparent and fair, and the police for keeping all involved safe.
