On Sunday 26th May 2024, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Barracuda Cafe on Stanmore Hill as a stop on his campaign for the general election.
The Prime Minister was joined by his wife, Akshata Murty to join the campaign for the re-election of the local MP Bob Blackman. A number of local councillors were there, including all three Stanmore ward councillors - Cllr Marilyn Ashton, Cllr Philip Benjamin and Cllr Zak Wagman - who were able to discuss the local area with the Prime Minister.
A number of customers and residents were in the area and were suprised and delighted to speak to the Prime Minister on his visit, which was a great day for our local high street.
