On Tuesday 30th January, Zak joined an online meeting with Richard Holden, the Chairman of the Conservative Party. Hosted by the Conservative Councillors' Association, this gave a number of local councillors the chance to ask Mr Holden about a number of key topics.
These ranged from the importance of unity to allow the government to succeed on its objectives and the critical elections coming up in May 2024 - when residents of London will have the chance to finally get rid of our disastrous Mayor, Sadiq Khan.
As a former minister in the Department for Transport, Richard was able to discuss at length a number of pertinent issues such as the impact of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) on local communities and the horrendous expansion of ULEZ to outer London, and the need for this to be reversed. It was a productive and engaging session.
